Jay Taylor Photography

John "Jay" Taylor is a native Seattleite who became passionate about photography at an early age. Even as a child he became fascinated by the images in National Geographic magazine. During high school he became more serious, taking photography classes that included developing film and enlarging prints. He attended the University of Washington to study Architecture, receiving Bachelor and Masters degrees in 1987 and 1990.
While maintaining a professional career in architecture, the advent of digital photography in the mid-90's sparked a renewed interest in his hobby and it was during this period that he became fully immersed in the technical and artistic aspects of the craft.
His first published work appeared in the book " The Wild Within" - Wetlands of the Washington Park Arboretum in 2007. He has a collection of images
featured in the online gallery - Placed second in the 2009 Portland Audubon Society's Raptor Photo Competition. From 2009 thru 2011 He has had images featured in PDML photo annuals. His image entitled "Skytowers" was selected and displayed at the PDML photography exhibition at Chicago's DANK-HAUS gallery.
His life long fascination with nature parallels his current photographic
interests including landscapes, nature & wildlife and architecture. Over the past year he has been focusing on HDR (high dynamic range) imagery. Jay is active on social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
